CAJA DE MÚSICA
CUENTOS DE UN VIAJE IMAGINADO

"I did not compose Chan Chan; I dreamt it. I dream of music. Sometimes I wake up with a melody in my head, I hear the instruments…" / Compay Segundo.
Caranzalem invites us to "dream travel". To travel dreaming that time when "at one o'clock I was born, at two I became great, at three I had a lover, and at four… That time when Andalusian music filled our gardens at the Alcázar of Seville.
To dream sailing, through the sea that took us to Peru and through that other "green sea of sailing", that took us from Brazil to Caranzalem, in Goa.
In a caravan we traveled America, from north to south, from south to north, singing a tango the feel free. Travelling…not to explore new places, but to discover ourselves. To look with different eyes, to feel with another heart, to laugh with joy and fall in love with Juanita or Chan Chan.
ELENA ESCARTÍN (1991, ZARAGOZA): recorder & voice
PILAR ALMALÉ (1993, ZARAGOZA): viola da gamba & voice
ANTONIO MONTIEL: percussions
PAULA BRIEBA: plucked early instruments

our first album
This is Caranzalem's first album. It captures their experience and time of work as a group, the music they had been making: songs from here and there that allow them to imagine one and a thousand trips, from an Argentine tango to a piece of Eastern Europe, passing through Peru, Finland, Cuba ...
For this, they recorded in Ponteareas, Galicia, with the sound technician and producer Rubén Díez and the collaboration of percussionist Antonio Montiel. Musicians such as John Conde and Jaime Serradilla have also participated, as well as Fernando Massia as production assistant.
.
It was launched in 2018 and financed thanks to the collaboration of the more than 100 patrons who participated in its Crowdfunding campaign (crowdfunding), and which was the winner of a second prize in the CREAR18 awards organized by the Aragonese Youth Institute.
